Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff and other parents and carers.
Research shows that children benefit when their parents or carers are actively involved in their education and school life.
You can help by:
- listening to children read in the classroom
- volunteering on sports days
- helping supervise excursions
- getting involved in fundraising activities
- joining school committees.
Working Bees
The parents and citizens' association (P&C) organises 4 working bees a year on Sundays, 1 per term. We help with gardening and landscaping, along with building, carpentry and handyman jobs as required. Helpers are welcome anytime between 8am and 12pm.
We need helpers to run the working bees, volunteer coordinators, job planners and people with practical skills. It's a wonderful community feeling and you get to make a difference while helping many inspiring people build their projects around the grounds.
Working bee dates for 2022
- Term 1: Date To Be Advised
- Term 2: Sunday, 26th June
- Term 3: Sunday, 18th September
- Term 4: Date To Be Advised
We provide morning tea, lunch and drinks to all attendees. The school does a great job with its resources but it's a massive job looking after the grounds and any help we can give puts that extra shine on the school and makes it a much more enjoyable place for us all.
What to bring
We have a supply of brooms, rakes and shovels but you make like to bring your own gardening gloves. Also a petrol whipper snipper is always a great help.
If your family is unable to help, you may want to consider a donation for the purchase of materials, equipment and professional specialised skills. If donating by cash, cheque or credit card please provide your details and drop it into the P&C locked box in the school administration reception area.
