Appearance

●       The Wild Currant plant grows around 3 metres high and 2 metres wide.

●       The berries will turn deep purple when delicious and ready to eat.

●       They have dark green glossy leaves.

●       The Wild Currant has a sprawling habit.

●       This plant is beautiful when fruiting.

●       In summer, this berry grows large, grape-like clusters that ripen unevenly.

Uses

●       The berries can be made into sweet jelly or yummy syrup.

●       The berries can also be used to make wine.

Location and climate

●       Wild currant is a small tropical plant from the North Queensland

●       You may also find it Papua New Guinea, Victoria, and South Australia.

Interesting facts

●    The Wild Currant plant attracts birds as well as bees and insects.
