Appearance

●       The mature fruit is a dark purple berry.

●       The leaves are green and lively.

●       It produces purple-ish blue tubular flowers in spring and other warm seasons and environments.

●       It can grow up to 2 meters high.

●       It can be 3 meters wide.

●       The fruit looks like very long grapes.

Uses

●       They are a key ingredient in many snacks including jams, tarts, and cakes.

●       They have a rich aniseed taste.

Location and climate

●       It has been found in every state and territory in Australia except Northern territory and West Australia.

●       It is most commonly found in southern Australia.

●       It doesn’t need that much water.

Interesting facts

●       Another name for it is ‘apple dumpling’.

●       The Sweet Apple Berry attracts birds and other sorts of wildlife.

●       This extraordinary plant tastes somewhat like stewed apple or kiwifruit

●       If the plant gets damaged from frost, the stalk can be cut down because it regrows after you cut it.
